When it’s Time to Pivot…

Life’s journey is determined by choices and decisions we make.  There are time when we need to ask ourselves “is it time to pivot?” Change direction, go a different way!  I’m not talking about basic choices, but the ones where we’re faced  with a crossroad.  It’s at these pivotal moments  we’ll determine what everything looks like in the next minute, hour, day, month, year or years… our FUTURE!

This blog site, PapaDub.com “Positive Singular Rants, Reveries & Ruminations” is where I voice my thoughts and opinions.  So let’s say that I’m going to exercise my 1st amendment, right to FREE SPEECH.  My posts with be pretty much anything that comes to mind!  These will mostly be my opinions, so please layoff any hateful comments!  Agree, disagree… I’m open to listening, so share your comments.  There is a comment box at the bottom of each post.

The First Amendment – What is it and what does it really say:

FREEDOM OF RELIGION, SPEECH, PRESS, ASSEMBLY, AND PETITION

Passed by Congress September 25, 1789.  Ratified December 15, 1791. The first 10 amendments form the Bill of Rights.  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The 1st Amendment is what separates our country from many other countries in the world.

The fact that a person can speak their mind in open forums without fear of reprisal is awesome!  This can be both good and bad.  If you don’t like or agree with someone’s opinion, then step up and put your opinion out there, let anyone who wishes to listen decide for themselves whether or not they agree.  Maybe they have their own opinion and think everyone else is wrong… free speech is a beautiful thing!

Unfortunately, it has come to a point in this country where people from all sides of the aisle don’t want to hear, or let anyone with whom they disagree, have their say! This is called suppression and it’s WRONG.  It goes against everything this country stands for, period!  sources:  Tyrants, Dictators, Autocrats, Bullies, Communist Governments etc.

So, here we are… a society that’s becoming filled with intolerance.  Intolerance for others and so many levels, FREE SPEECH is but one of many.

I believe this country is currently at a point “WHEN IT’S TIME TO PIVOT,” turn and change direction.  By pivoting we can change the next minute, hour, day, year, years and OUR FUTURE!  We all need to make a different choice… BE MORE TOLERANT!  Allow others to peacefully exercise their 1st Amendment Right of FREE SPEECH.  Whether we agree or disagree…

So here is the PIVOT.  Everybody out there try be willing to  listening more and yell less.  Find the willingness to allow everyone to be heard…
